Wisconsin’s public health managers are hoping to have a way to track people who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus, or who’ve come into contact with someone who has, by the end of the month.
The app uses bluetooth to track phones for about two weeks. If someone tests positive for the virus, the app can then ping those phones and alert people that they may have been in contact with someone who’s tested positive. Department of Health Services Secretary Andrea Palm yesterday said they are working through the details and specifics.
The app is currently being used in Colorado, Maryland, and Washington.
