The state of Wisconsin is hoping to clear up a backlog of thousands of unemployment filings in the coming weeks.
The Department of Workforce Development and Google announced a partnership to help speed up claim processing in October. The department’s interim director Amy Pechacek says the backlog will be processed in a matter of weeks instead of months.
The department reported Tuesday that almost 94 percent of the eight-point-two million weekly unemployment claims filed since March 15th have been processed.
