Close to 300 nursing home residents across the state are dead from COVID-19 in the last month.
The latest report shows that 294 residents had died of coronavirus between October 12th and November 8th, up from just 28 the previous month. The number of cases in nursing homes has also skyrocketed in the last month. Two-thousand-130 cases were confirmed in the last month compared to 387 in the month prior.
While nursing home residents make up a small percentage of total COVID-19 cases in the state, they account for over one-fourth of the state’s death toll.
