La Crosse Central High School is going to need a new team name and mascot.
The school yesterday said it is retiring its Red Raider nickname. Principal Troy McDonald says it’s something they’ve been talking about for years. He said some people consider the Red Raider name culturally inappropriate. There’s no word on what the new name will be. McDonald hopes to have a list of suggestions by next January.
