The latest plan for Wisconsin’s state budget is to cut 300 million-dollars by the end of the year.
Governor Tony Evers yesterday told state agencies and the UW-System to make the cuts by December 15th. The UW-System is being ordered to cut 45 million. There are also large cuts ordered for the state’s prison system, as well as DHS and the Department of Children and Families. Republican state Rep. John Nygren, who helps write the budget, says the cuts unfairly target education. He says the governor needs to take a more balanced approach to balancing the state budget.
