Kick back and enjoy today’s Labor Day.
Just a little tidbit of History 101 for you: The holiday is observed on the first Monday in September pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers. It also symbolizes the end of summer and is typically celebrated with parties and street parades across the country, although this one in 2020 will undoubtedly look different than celebrations in the past.
Labor Day was first created at the height of the Industrial Revolution in the late 19th century. It was first celebrated in 1882 and became a federal holiday in 1894.
And now you know!
To all of you who work hard every day, in all different ways, we salute you and wish you a safe and relaxing Labor Day….with a chance to kick your feet up and enjoy a moment of rest amid your busy lives.
And if you are among those who are working today, despite the holiday we say THANK YOU and appreciate all you do. Cheers!
