Wisconsin’s governor says he didn’t want either Donald Trump or Joe Biden in Kenosha, but says he’s glad Biden came.
The governor yesterday said he ‘made his position clear’ to Biden just before Biden arrived in Kenosha. Evers sent a letter to President Trump earlier this week asking him not to come to Wisconsin. Evers says he’s not a hypocrite for not sending the same letter to Biden. After Biden’s visit, the governor said there were stark differences in how both men handled themselves in Kenosha.
Kenosha Police have arrested more than 250 people in the two weeks since Jacob Blake’s shooting. Police yesterday said many of those arrests were for breaking the city’s curfew. Kenosha’s police chief says over half of the people arrested, 132, do not live in Kenosha. Most of the arrests came last week during four violent nights of protests and riots.
