A County Republican wants to expand school choice because of the coronavirus.
State Senator Chris Kapenga says with more schools moving online-only this fall, parents should be able to move their kids to schools that are having in-person classes. He is pushing a plan that would add another open enrollment period, lift the cap on school choice enrollment, and ban local schools from vetoing a parent’s decision to change schools. Kapenga says it is crucial that parents be allowed to choose the best educational-fit for their kids.
