A woman who spent 42 years at the Health and Human Services Department in Rusk County is looking at the possibility of 20 years in prison for stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from taxpayers.
Sandra Stiner pleaded guilty yesterday to embezzling just over 700 thousand-dollars. Prosecutors say she used the money to pay down her credit cards, pay on her house, as well as shop and gamble.
She retired from the county last year. Stiner will be sentenced in November.
