The race for Congress in western Wisconsin is set.
Derrick Van Orden won yesterday’s Republican primary, he will now face Democrat Ron Kind in November. Kind has been in Congress since 1997. Western Wisconsin is being watched as a tell-tale district. President Trump won the area back in 2016, but Kind has carried his district twice since then.
As we inch closer to November, the race for president in Wisconsin hasn’t really moved in months. The latest Marquette Law School poll gives Joe Biden a five point lead over President Donald Trump, 49-44. That’s essentially the same spread that the two have seen for months.
Independents will likely decide the race, 39 percent of independents support Biden, while 34 support President Trump. Eighteen percent of independents say they don’t like either or don’t know who they will vote for.
