A public discussion is happening regarding an effort to regulate conversion therapy in the Eau Claire area. At a city council meeting last night, people were able to voice their concerns on its harmfulness to kids.
Conversion therapy offers treatment that seeks to change someone’s sexual orientation or identity. Some shared their belief that it’s a person issue, up to families to decide, not the council. The Eau Claire County Human Services Board unanimously passed a resolution in August supporting efforts to regulate the practice and to prohibit the therapy for people younger than 18.
