The one-day number for COVID-19 deaths is the highest confirmed since the outbreak began.
Health officials today say 22 people died from the coronavirus in the last 24 hours. That brings the total number of deaths in the state to 539. New hospitalizations have also jumped with 79 admissions since yesterday.
