COVID-19 PANDEMIC PUSHES WI UNEMPLOYMENT OVER 300K

The State Department of Workforce Development says over 55-thousand people filed first time unemployment claims in Wisconsin last week.

That pushed the number of jobless claims in recent weeks to almost 300-thousand in the state.  Most of the layoffs and furloughs are because of the closing of businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
