WI FARM GROUPS CALL FOR CHANGES IN HEMP LAWS

A number of farm groups in Wisconsin want to see some changes to the federal hemp law.

The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation, Wisconsin Hemp Alliance, Wisconsin Hemp Farmers and Manufacturers Association, and Wisconsin Farmers Union yesterday all wrote a letter to the USDA asking for changes in the law.

Specifically the groups want to see more than one lab in Wisconsin that can test their hemp crop, they want more time to harvest their crop, and they are worried that the federal government wants to destroy an entire field of hemp if it comes back too high for THC levels.

There is a comment period about the new rules. The USDA could make changes once that is done.
