The state of Wisconsin says it is watching five people in the state who may be sick with the coronavirus. But no one is saying who they are or where they live. Medical privacy laws stop the state from offering any details about the people who are being watched.
Though the Wisconsin Department of Health Services yesterday said the state is sharing test results from the five with the CDC. There are no confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Wisconsin. There is one in Illinois.
Here locally, No one in western Wisconsin is sick with the coronavirus. Doctors at hospitals in the Chippewa Valley want people to know that. Doctors also want people to know that they are doing all they can to handle a case of the coronavirus if one appears. Managers at HSHS Sacred Heart and St. Joseph’s Hospital yesterday said they are working with the county and state health departments to prepare.
