Mayor de Blasio is still getting lots of blowback today for his “Bagel Day” tweet about how he likes one of New York’s most famous foods. The mayor tweeted out Wednesday that he likes his bagels “Whole wheat. Toasted. Extra cream cheese.” The twitterverse exploded with New Yorkers chiding him for toasting his bagel, a definite no-no among bagel purists who say they should only be eaten fresh from the oven.

The mayor also said his favorite place to buy bagels is in Park Slope at the “Bagel Hole.” But the owners of that bagel shop say they wont toast their bagels for customers, because they only sell them fresh.
The mayor later deleted his tweet
