Natural resources officials in Wisconsin say safety is essential when hunting.
There are reports every year about injuries from tree stand accidents and most times the hunter failed to wear a safety harness. Hunters are advised to carry a cell phone or two-way radio and wear a full body harness when using tree stands. Nearly 550-thousand hunters purchased licenses last year in Wisconsin.
