GOV. EVERS PUSHES WAGE INCREASE WI

 Governor Tony Evers is trying to raise the minimum wage for state employees to 15-dollars per hour.  His administration released it’s 2019 to 2021 state employee compensation plan yesterday, which shows a 15-dollar minimum  and a two-percent raise for all state employees starting in next June.  The plan will need to be approved buy the Joint Committee on Employee Relation before it can go into effect.

UW-Madison Raising Minimum Wage

While we are talking WAGES 101, Ahead of the Governor’s call to raise state employee wages, the University of Wisconsin, Madison is moving forward with it’s own wage increase.  The university announced yesterday that it’s bumping its minimum pay up to 15-dollars an hour starting next spring.  Chancellor Rebecca Blank says the higher wage will help recruit and retain high-quality workers.
