Wisconsin lawmakers have a different chief cheese in mind. And not all are created equally or GOUDA enough to be the top…A handful of lawmakers in Madison want to slice off the crown and declare Colby as the state’s official cheese.
Right now, the state recognizes ‘Wisconsin cheese’ as the state’s official dairy product. The lawmakers say they want to update that designation and once cheese, stands alone. They want Colby cheese to be the chief representative of Wisconsin’s cheese offerings. If that’s not your favorite, don’t be BLUE. We tried to catch up with other cheeses, but when asked for comment, Munster was too busy because of the Halloween season. We did however, manage to catch up with Swiss-who said the story is full of holes.
