La Crosse parks managers say they don’t tolerate hate, but they can’t have anti-hate signs up in the parks and say no to others.
The city’s Parks and Recreation Department yesterday said it removed the Hate Has No Home Here signs from its parks because other people were putting other signs right next to them. Those signs had messages that parks managers didn’t like. So, all the signs had to go.
Parks Director Jay Odegaard says La Crosse may create its own signs that has their own message, but isn’t sure how long that may take.
