MAN JUMPS INTO LEGAL TROUBLE AFTER TOWER LEAP

Just after 8:30 on Thursday morning, the Menomonie Police Department, Menomonie Fire Department and Menomonie Street Department responded to a call of a subject who had become entangled in a guard wire on the Charter Communications tower after attempting to base jump from atop the 300-foot tower.

20 year old Mason D. Barth called 911 for assistance when his parachute became entangled in the guard wire roughly 50 feet above the ground. Barth was successfully rescued at 9:34 AM and transported to Mayo
Menomonie where he was treated and released.

Barth was arrested for criminal trespass to property.
