The Eau Claire City-County Health Department is using October to remind women to get breast cancer screenings.
October is known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month nationally. In Eau Claire, health officials say just 54-percent of women ages 65 to 74 enrolled in Medicare got an annual mammography screening in 2016. They are working with the Wisconsin Well Women Program to provide breast and cervical cancer screenings to eligible women statewide.
