Eau Claire County’s former treasurer will stay in prison for stealing from taxpayers. An appeals court yesterday rejected Larry Lokken’s latest appeal.
Lokken wanted the court to overturn his nine-and-a-half-year sentence for stealing more than 625-thousand-dollars. The court did give Lokken a break on paying that money back. The judges said the county court should reconsider their sentence of an extra five years in prison if Lokken cannot repay the money quickly.
