Today is National Guacamole Day and the price of the main ingredient is coming down.
The average price nationally for a Haas avocado was a dollar-16 Friday. It was two dollars and ten cents in early July. Wholesale prices are less than half the price in July. The falling price is a good reason to celebrate, since Americans eat nearly 60-million pounds of avocados a week.
