A Jim Falls man is sentenced to prison for a drunk driving wreck in which his friend died.
Mavrick Kolpien was sentenced to three years behind bars on Friday. His friend Zachary Evanson was killed when he was riding in Kolpien’s vehicle that collided with another in the intersection of Highway X and XX near Cadott in May, 2018.
Chippewa County DA Wade Newell told Judge James Issacson that even though Kolpien isn’t a bad person, he should be held responsible because he did act recklessly by driving intoxicated.
