SPEEDING LEADS TO OWI ARREST

A speeding violation in Dunn County lead to the arrest of a Minnesota man.

28-year-old Michael Darrel Adams-Virnig from St. Paul, Minnesota has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Eau Claire Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 1st offense, with one child in the vehicle under the age of 16.

It was on September 15, at approximately 12:49 a.m., a WI State Trooper stopped a vehicle for speeding, 93 m.p.h. in a 70-m.p.h. zone. Upon approach to the vehicle the Trooper detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

The driver, identified as Michael Adams-Virnig of St. Paul, admitted smoking marijuana prior to the stop. There was also an eight-year-old child in the vehicle. Adams-Virnig was arrested and is being charged with OWI drugged driving with a minor in the vehicle.
