Things are tight in our current political climate:
An early peek in shows us that it is a virtual dead heat for the two top candidates vying for governor this November. A new Marquette University Law School poll of likely voters finds incumbent Republican Scott Walker and Democratic Challenger Tony Evers each with 46-percent support. Libertarian Phil Anderson has six-percent and two-percent say they lack a preference. Among all registered voters, Walker leads Evers 46-to-44-percent with Anderson at seven-percent.
As is the case with the governor’s race, the Wisconsin U.S. Senate race is also being closely contested. The Marquette University Law school poll shows 49-percent of likely voters, those who say they are certain to go to the polls, support incumbent Democrat Tammy Baldwin. Forty-seven-percent say they support Republican Leah Vukmir. Among all registered voters, Baldwin leads Vukmir by eight points.
