Some parents expressed frustration over a lack of communication yesterday while trying to get a handle on a safety issue at North High School. But, school leaders in Eau Claire say it was better to wait for details and keep kids in class while police investigated the latest online threat at North High School.
Superintendent Mary Ann Hardebeck yesterday said the Eau Claire police found the threat yesterday to not be credible. Police say there was some chatter about a gun on school grounds, but they found no evidence. Hardebeck said students were already at school, or on their way to school by the time she realized what police were looking into.
Some parents say the school district mishandled the situation.
