Barron, Clark, Polk, and Rusk counties are all on the list of 18 counties in western and northern Wisconsin that Governor Tony Evers wants declared disaster areas.
The governor yesterday asked FEMA for an emergency declaration for the areas hit by the storms on July 18th, 19th, and 20th. The governor says the storms caused at least 19-and-a-half million-dollars in damage. A disaster declaration would allow local governments to get federal money to pay up to 75-percent of that cost.
