Officer Involved Shooting Under Investigation

One person is dead following an officer-involved shooting in Chippewa Falls. 

The Wisconsin Department of Justice says three Chippewa Falls Police officers were called out yesterday morning to a hotel near the one-thousand block of West Park Avenue on a report of wanted subjects being there.  One officer spotted a vehicle with three people inside.  One of them jumped out of the vehicle and ran while the officer gave chase.  While fleeing, the person pulled out what was believed to be a handgun and jumped a patio railing before the officer opened fire, hitting them.  The person was pronounced dead at the scene and an investigation is underway. CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE WITH WEAU 13 NEWS.
