WI Prepares for Spring Election, Eau Claire Race Heats Up

The Republican Party of Wisconsin is now suing after duplicate absentee ballots were sent to some voters in Green Bay.

WBAY-TV reports the suit alleges that at least 152 extra ballots were sent to people in multiple ward.  The problem was discovered when voters who had already returned their absentee ballots received another one and contacted the city clerk’s office.  Officials say the mistake was made last month when labels were accidentally printed twice during the massive winter storm.  Anyone who received two ballots is asked to destroy the extra one.

Wisconsin voters will head to the polls tomorrow.  The main statewide race is for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, where Chris Taylor is taking on Maria Lazar.  More than 280-thousand Wisconsinites had already returned their ballots as of Friday afternoon.  Polls open tomorrow from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Locally, a key race is up for grabs in Eau Claire during tomorrow’s election.  Voters will chose a new City Council president between Scott Rogers and Jeremy Gragert. The winner faces the task of addressing a projected two-point-two million budget deficit in 2027.
