A defendant charged following a stabbing incident in Lake Hallie is accepting a plea deal with prosecutors.
Police responding to a 41st Avenue home on July 11th of last year found a man who had been stabbed five times. Orestes Kouris of Eau Claire was later located near the Lake Hallie Golf Course and arrested. Kouris faced charges including attempted 1st-degree intentional homicide. As part of a deal with prosecutors, he pleaded guilty this week to charges of child abuse by use of a dangerous weapon and first degree recklessly endangering safety.
Sentencing has been scheduled for July.
