One person is dead following a likely attempted murder-suicide.
La Crosse police responded to a shooting on Onalaska Avenue and found an injured person suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, along with a witness. The witness told police the suspect was inside the home with a gun. Officers later found the suspect, Deontis Jackson, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Early investigation indicates that it’s likely a domestic-related attempted murder-suicide.
