The weather is not cooperating with sturgeon spearers on Lake Winnebago.
Another day of rain has deteriorated ice conditions and the DNR says only 19 were speared yesterday. Two of those weighed in at over 100 pounds. On the upriver lakes, the season has ended after only three days because harvest caps were reached. Lake Winnebago’s spearing season will end March 1st unless harvest caps are met sooner.
