WI State Patrol Troopers responded to a report of a roll-over crash involving a commercial motor
vehicle.
The tractor-trailer unit was several hundred feet in the ditch area just before the mile
marker 115 westbound exit ramp. When the CMV went off the roadway it struck several trees,
causing damage to the cab and trailer. The driver of the unit succumbed to his injuries suffered
during the crash. Officers on scene are investigating the possibility of another CMV unit being
involved causing the semi to exit the roadway.
Authorities are sharing the name of the person who died following in a weekend crash in Jackson County. According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, the truck’s driver, 58-year-old Mondovi resident Russell Back, died at the scene.
