This week, the Wisconsin Attorney General announced that a multi-state coalition won against the Trump administration’s effort to block billions in funds for EV charging stations.
Wisconsin had been awarded over 78 million dollars by the Biden administration to deploy a network of EV fast-chargers across the state. The funding for EV chargers was included in the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The Wisconsin Department of Justice said had the Trump administration been successful, it could have cost Wisconsin over 62 million dollars in federal funds, as well as jobs and economic activity tied to EV charging station projects.
A summary judgment in federal court last week concluded the administration violated the law in trying to block the funding.
