Onalaska’s police chief has retired.
After a three-decades-long career in law enforcement — the last six-and-a-half leading the Onalaska Police Department — Charles Ashbeck retired on Tuesday. Assistant Chief Tim Berg will serve as interim-chief until the city decides on a permanent replacement.
