WI Congressman Looks to Remove Wolf from Endangered Species List

Wisconsin Congressman Tom Tiffany is behind a bill that would remove the gray wolf from the endangered species list.

Members of the U.S. House have passed the Pet and Livestock Protection Act, which was introduced by the western Wisconsin Republican.  If signed into the law, the legislation will allow states to manage wolf numbers through regulated hunting.  The Wisconsin DNR estimates gray wolf populations have grown to roughly 12-hundred in the state after there were less than 500 around in 2006.  Tiffany’s measure will now be considered in the U.S. Senate.
