Sentencing is being ordered for an Eau Claire man convicted in a child neglect case.
Matthew Stanton and Shanta Hill were charged in 2023 after three children — ages six, five, and four — were found to have been mistreated. Hill previously pleaded no contest to neglect charges and was sentenced to four years in prison. Stanton pleaded guilty this week to a charge of chronic child neglect with emotional damage as a party to a crime and was also sentenced to four years in prison.
