A Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Highway 53 near Pierce Road.
The Trooper observed that the driver, 37 year old Desiree Shear, of Gordon, WI showed signs of impairment. A subsequent investigation, including standardized field sobriety testing, showed that Ms. Shear was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a restricted controlled substance.
She was subsequently arrested and charged with operating while under the influence of a restricted controlled substance while having a passenger under 16 years old in the vehicle, possession of THC, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ms. Shear was transported to a local hospital for an evidentiary chemical test of her blood, then taken to the Washburn County Jail. The juvenile passengers, ages 15 and 17, were left in the care of a family member.
