Governor Evers is requesting the U.S. Court of Appeals to reject the Trump administration’s attempt to block November SNAP benefits.
This comes amid the ongoing federal government shutdown. The state recently processed benefits to ensure access over the weekend, but the request was denied authorization by the U.S. Treasury. Evers warns that federal inconsistencies threaten the state’s ability to reimburse retailers and provide essential food resources. Nearly 700-thousand state residents, including around 270-thousand children, rely on SNAP benefits.
