As we get into a new day the hustle and bustle of the holiday season is right around the corner. Need proof? The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is due to arrive in Manhattan today. Despite the anticipated holiday crush along 5th Avenue, every day New Yorkers say they’re ready. Wow.
The 75 foot tall, eleven-ton Norway Spruce was cut down Thursday in East Greenbush, New York. It will sit in Rockefeller Center until the end of the holiday season after making the 130-mile journey to get there. The tree will undergo beautification for the next few weeks – being strung up in 50 thousand multi colored LED lights and crowned with a 900-pound Swarovski star, just in time for the December 3rd lighting ceremony.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed already, we get it.
Let’s slow down for just a minute, shall we? This is our weekly Saturday morning “scroll down memory lane.” It’s a simple look back at events that happened on this day in history before you head out to make new history today.
