Education System Undergoing Reforms After Investigation

The state’s education system is undergoing reforms after an investigation found more than 200 educators were investigated for sexual misconduct and grooming.

State Superintendent Jill Underly announced a public database listing revoked and surrendered educator licenses.  The Department plans to strengthen laws by defining grooming as a crime and closing the private-school licensing loophole.  The Wisconsin State Senate Committee on Education will hold a legislative hearing, and Underly has been invited to testify.
