Plane Lands Safely At Chippewa Valley Regional Airport As Precaution

On Thursday, October 23, at approximately 0720 hours, personnel from the Eau Claire Fire Department, Altoona Fire Department,  CVRA (Chippewa Valley Regional Airport) Fire Department, Chippewa Fire District, and Township Fire Department responded to 3801 Airport Road for an Alert 2 of an inbound aircraft with possible landing gear issues.

En route, units were updated that there  were seven souls on board and the aircraft was going to do a flyover to see if its landing gear was down. Further information was  the aircraft was approximately 10 minutes away from the airport and had approximately 1,600 pounds of fuel on board.

All  responding units staged on the CVRA tarmac. The CVRA Tower updated that the flyover confirmed the landing gear was down but  was unable to determine if the landing gear was locked.

The plane landed utilizing its landing gear without incident. This incident  remains under investigation.
