On Sunday October 19th, at approximately 1730 hrs, the Eau Claire Fire Department responded to the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport for a report of an aircraft that had slid off the runway.
Initial responding units: CVRA AARF, Truck 8, Engine 10, Medic 10, Engine 2, Squad 2 Batallion 1, Chippewa Fire District and Township Fire. While responding, the Eau Claire Communication Center reported two occupants were walking away from the aircraft. Truck 8 arrived on the scene and found a single aircraft with minor damage, resting on it’s belly in the grass next to the runway.
The occupants did not report any injuries and additional responding units were cancelled.
CVRA staff reported the incident is under investigation by NTSB.
