WI Sees Demonstrations, Protests

On Saturday, thousands of protesters filled streets in more than 60 Wisconsin cities as part of the nationwide “No Kings” rallies opposing President Trump’s administration. Demonstrations in Green Bay, Appleton, Madison, Milwaukee, and other cities drew large turnouts, with organizers estimating more than seven million people participating nationwide.

Protesters voiced concerns over healthcare, women’s rights, and immigration policies, while emphasizing the importance of voting as a form of resistance. Law enforcement reported no arrests during the peaceful marches, which stretched through major downtown areas across the state. Republican leaders dismissed the rallies as political distractions from the ongoing government shutdown.

Showing you different sides so you can decide, President Trump says he thinks the “No Kings” protests over the weekend were laughable.

Speaking to reporters on Air Force One Sunday, Trump said he is not a king at all, and works hard to make the country great.

Here locally, there was action as well.

Community members wore yellow as a symbol for “hope, unity, and defiance against authoritarianism”.  Chippewa Valley Indivisible organized the event in Eau Claire where hundreds showed up at Owen Park.  Over sixty protests took place across the state. CLICK HERE FOR LOCAL COVERAGE WITH WEAU 13 NEWS.
