There’s a push among some lawmakers to take government shutdowns off the table.
Senator Rick Scott of Florida announced yesterday that he and fellow Republican Ron Johnson of Wisconsin are proposing the Eliminate Shutdowns Act. Scott says it would stop Democrats from using the threat of a shutdown to demand a liberal wish list that undermines the president’s agenda. He accuses Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of making ridiculous demands and throwing a temper tantrum to try and stop President Trump from delivering for the American people.
