A new bill hopes to revitalize the forestry industry in northwest Wisconsin.
The legislation introduced on Monday would provide tax credits and a grant toward a proposed facility in Hayward. That plant would convert pulpwood into sustainable aviation fuel and would create 150 jobs. The bill is co-authored by state Senator Mary Felzkowski and Representative Rob Summerfield.
