WI Reptiles and Amphibians are on the Move

News | September 11, 2025 | 0 | by Morgan McCarthy
WI Reptiles and Amphibians are on the Move

As the seasons change from summer to fall, reptiles and amphibians are more likely to be spotted on Wisconsin roadways.

The Department of Natural Resources is asking people to report when they see animals like frogs, salamanders, lizards, or snakes on roadways in the coming weeks. The reports will help the department track the seasonal movements of the animals, most of which are endangered or of special concern. Photos and other information about animals seen on roadways will be accepted on DNR-dot-Wisconsin-dot-gov.
