The trial for the teen accused of sexually assaulting and murdering 10-year-old Lily Peters will be take place outside of Chippewa County.
Peters was found dead in the woods near her Chippewa Falls home in 2022. The lawyer for now-17-year-old suspect Carson Peters-Berger argues his client wouldn’t have gotten a fair trial in Chippewa County due to local media coverage and public knowledge of the case. A judge granted the motion to move the trial during a hearing earlier today.
A trial date has not yet been set.
